Where He Ends and I Begin is a heartwarming, sexy, sensual story. Cardeno C. writes with poise and passion, tenderness and love. This story is about two best friends, children of best friends, who were born on the same day as their mothers shared a hospital room. They grew up together with their families living as one. One is dark and the other fair. One is athletic, the other brainy. One is gay, the other is …straight?.... Wait a minute, check it out. Things are not always as they seem at first glance, as Nate finds out. He’s always figured that, when he came out at fifteen, Jake was just being his usual care-free and caring self. No harm, no foul. But something finally triggers Jake’s sexual attraction to Nate and so begins a hot little love affair.
The story is filled with togetherness. Even when there is loss, togetherness keeps Jake sane. There are twists to the story; Nate tells you that he remembers when Jake became indifferent, almost insolent. Jake tells you why. Nate tells of the loss of Jake’s parents; Jake tells you what he did to make sure that one life was saved. As they grow, will their love survive as their friendship has? Will Nate’s fears become a reality, and Jake finds love in the arms of a woman? Is Nate destined to be Jake’s best friend, holding a torch for the man he just cannot totally have?
I renumber first reading this story when it was on a site for writers. I have to say even after reading it again in book form I love this story even more. To know that there is such a thing of a love that has endured time decades and trials of strength.
To see that to Jake there us no other man in his life but Noah and the Same for Noah. To see how they come together to learn to love grow and find a happiness that no can take away from them.
I highly recommend this book in the Home Again series.
