Antonio Bezerra (also known as 'Didio') is a fine art photographer from Brazil. In this exceptional monograph THROUGH MY EYES he shares images of youths captured in moments that reveal pensive states, solitude, and playfulness, photographs taken en plein air in both richly contrasting black and white and lush color. For the most part these young Adonis figures are captured alone giving the viewer the sense that Bezerra has spent time waiting for the moment that shares the vulnerability of his models. The majority of the models wear swim trunks or underwear or levis: the emphasis here is on the beauty of the whole being rather than the artificially created erotica that other photographers seek.

And while the majority of these artistically beautiful images are of young men alone, Bezerra also shows some models interacting with each other, from the quite poses of two men in gentle black and white sense of friendship to a very special image of two men languidly posing in camaraderie on the beach of Brazil. In the center of the book is a celebratory double page image of eleven men in swimsuits tumbling in a explosion of goodwill and games that is as wonderfully noisy as the surf behind them - and just as lasting.

In short, this is a collection of photographs of the vitality, the beauty and the vulnerability of the young men who communicate with both the photographer, and subsequently to us, the unposed, unfettered, unplanned moments of being comfortable in their bodies, all as seen through the eyes of a gifted photographer, Antonio Bezerra.
