Synopsis

First the simple blurb: Two lovers are killed during the Holocaust by Nazis. In the present, fate brings them back together. Christopher, a man with a grown-up daughter, meets her boyfriend for the first time and has a shocking realization. He feels that her daughter's boyfriend is his Nazi German lover from his past life. Is his daughter's role to be a passage for their reunification?

The film is hampered by its low budget and a difficult-to-believe storyline. While we know the filmmaker's heart to be in the right place, please tread with caution, this is not a film many people finish.

Well Intended But Deeply Deeply Flawed

The two things that most bugged me about this film are that:
a) The DVD cover has absolutely nothing to do with any scenes in the film.
And
b) I know we've supposed to give low-budget gay themed indies our support but this film looks like it was made on a budget quite literally of $1.47 at best.

Not light entertainment.

Everything about this movie is incredibly bad. Sound, picture dialogue, script - all deserve a zero. Expecting people to pay $18 for this rubbish is the worst thing. I've seen some real cinema stinkers and this is the smelliest so far.

The premise of this film could be right out of a Danielle Steele novel, with a gay twist. The movie and story could be so much more in the right hands. This incredibly low budget film is short and the characters and story are not well fleshed out, but I can certainly see the potential for a better financed remake. The acting is not all that bad either, given the script. The dialogue is not too bad and the actors do the best with what they've been given, although the guy who plays Christopher was a little over the top in his emotions when the dialogue didn't quite fit his character's actions. The guy who plays Ben/Alexander was decent for his first film. I'd like to see him again in something else (although he does appear in one of the shorts on the DVD). Watching with a little imagination to flesh out the story in your mind makes it an ok film to watch.

Whatever the merits of this film might be, be forewarned that the picture on the cover (two men - one in Nazi uniform - in a romantic pose) is deceptive as that scene does not appear in the film. Neither does another picture in the back of the packaging that shows a nude man lying with a Nazi soldier standing over him. Except for some documentary archival film of the Nazi era in Germany and other blurry images, the story takes place in the present. Do not let the packaging mislead you. It is deceptive, and the filmmakers should be ashamed of trying to lure buyers in such a manner.
