I'm sure I've read stuff that is far more extreme when it comes to kink or pain, but I'm not sure I've read a book that has turned me on more. You would think story after story about college boys and other young guys getting screwed would get repetitive, but the author figured out ways to make that mostly not an issue. Sure a lot of the stories are from the points of view of hot, naive young bottoms who are so horny they are helpless to stop a parade of older men from getting inside them again and again. But then there are some stories from the dominant's point of view which are often some of the stories I found the hottest. There are also a couple of third person stories, one an erotic futuristic fantasy and the other a bit literary. My favorite pieces are the wildest ones. In "Duel in the Sand" a college boy on a nude beach is fought over by two law students. One mounts him only to be pushed out by the other who then claims the bottom boy's body. Then the first battles back and conquers the bottom again. One of the many onlookers observes "damn, it's a scene out of Animal Planet." Another is called "Simple and Easy" where a handsome young man takes a new job in a small and allegedly "friendly" city to find a decent guy to fall in love with. However, the men in this town quickly discover the young guy's true nature - he may protest that he doesn't want to have his rump taken by man after man, but he soon must admit that he lives to serve as many tops as possible. "Claiming Danny" is similar in that it explores the depths of submission of a gorgeous and sweet college boy. The difference here is that Danny gives up absolutely all control over what happens to him, and the narrator, a top man, (thankfully) realizes he must step in to protect the young man from himself as well as the numerous men who greedily take advantage of the boy's inability to say no. The title story "The Boy Can't Help It' is similar in that the bottom character is a gorgeous college boy (one who is in much healthier place mentally than Danny) who can't stop anyone from penetrating him because of unusual pheromones that make him literally irresistible. I kind of have to shake my head in amazement at how well this author nails both dominant and submissive desires. When I was reading about a top's attempt to conquer a bratty young marine with an incredible butt, I was thinking "yeah, get him. Oh, yeah! He's getting him! He's getting him!" Meanwhile, a submissive character is shocked when the friendly older man he thought he was going to just cuddle tricked him into getting tied up and plowed. Then his shock (and humiliation) is tripled when the man calls up a bunch of friends to come over and take turns having their way with him. When I read that, all I could think was "oh, god. What do I have to do to end up like the bottom guy in this scenario??" There are at least a couple stories where both characters are young and at least in one of those there seems to be the beginnings of a much stronger connection than just a sexual one even though their coupling is insanely hot. Who would like this most? Readers who like intergenerational sex (the top is always the older guy, but sometimes only a couple years older and the top isn't always the one doing the seducing.) Readers who fantasize about being with "bad men" who always get their way will also eat this up. There's a bit of an interracial theme, too. It seems like all the bottom boys are white (one Latino though) while the tops are sometimes generic white, but sometimes black or Latino or Greek or Portuguese or Middle Eastern and so forth. I CANNOT WAIT to read more from this author.
