Synopsis

Made in 1983, Robert Altman's politically-progressive film about a gay soldier's life in the military, is not only very entertaining and wise, it's got a few shower scenes, a great butt shot of David Alan Grier and a quick Matthew Modine frontal nude shot.

Review

Robert Altman's adaptation of David Rabe's play is an ensemble piece featuring four soldiers awaiting transfer to Vietnam. Mitchell Lichtenstein is the centerpiece of this film about a gay Ivy Leaguer-turned-soldier who taunts his straight bunk-mates in their Army barracks. Also stars Matthew Modine.
