Review

An insipidly funny slapstick comedy which amazingly spawned six sequels, though once was (more than) enough. Zany misfit police cadets are let loose on an unsuspecting public. This combination of low-brow hijinks and sophomoric schtick does contain many a laugh, but this imitative romp is years behind other "dumb" comedies such as Airplane! There's a gay bar that's played for laughs ("The Blue Oyster"), which was apparently such a hit that it reappeared in most of the sequels.
