Review

Nico and Dani is the newest and sexiest entry in the sub-genre of gay teen coming-of-age movies. The titular characters are best buddies, and for this particular summer, get to hang out at blond-haired Dani’s (Fernando Ramallo) Mediterranean seaside home when his parents go off to Egypt. Initially, they do what they’ve always enjoyed doing: just hang out, listen to music, skinny-dip, hunt, and in the evening, jerk-off or exchange "krámpacks" (sexual favors) in bed. But the boys are changing -- Dani begins to have stronger romantic feelings for Nico (Jordi Vilches), around the same time Nico begins to be attracted to girls. Tensions and the prospect of the two separating reaches a high point when Nico begins dating Elena (Marieta Orozco) and Dani’s encouraged to go out with Berta (Esther Nubiola). Soon, Dani’s jealousy and Nico’s ensuing secretiveness threaten to prematurely end their idyllic summer. Barcelona-based director Cesc Gay has made a gorgeously photographed film that is sharp, witty, fresh, funny, unpredictable, and even a little tense. (Spanish with English subtitles)

I really liked this film,me being a gay teen it kind of portrays the struggle of jealousy and lust for the one you cant really have but you'd try do anything to get them and in Dani's case he did in a way.

Good movie, made in spain somewhere between Barcelona and Sitges. Of the many gay theme movies I have seen and now own, I rate this one in the top 10 percent. Subtitles are easy to read and the translation is almost word for word. After seeing it, I do not regret buying it.
