Augusten Burroughs could write his grocery list with such dry acerbic wit, he'd have us laughing, so even this less-than-inspiring collection is better than most comic humor. Magical Thinking is a chronological collection of stories Burrough apparently culled from his extensive journal entries that tell more details of his twisted childhood and the adult results. From Burroughs' childhood "Tang" commercial misadventure to his stories of his current relationship with Dennis, these are tight, compact tales with some hysterical punchlines. Magical Thinking is certainly his gayest book yet. Almost every story involves homosexuality in some form or other -- we'll see if this translates into higher sales or not! Don't expect the revelations one got from Running with Scissors or Dry, this one's lighter weight -- but you might get embarrassed from laughing so hard if you read it in a public place.
