When the movie started, I thought "Oh No! Stacey Miller's voice is going to kill me" But as the plot unfolded I got hooked. The actors really held the movie together - not an easy feat. Bravo.

Richard and Tiffany are stranded at the airport because the weather is so bad. They are both from the same small town but neither have seen each other for fifteen years. Richard is headed back to the town and Tiffany is fleeing from it. What they have in common is that they are both facing decisions that will change their lives. The wait at the airport takes us into their lives and we learn who they are and where they are going. Richard and Tiffany were never friends but we learn now that they share painful secrets. After graduation each went on his own way but now they are forced to be together by the weather.

The acting is amazing with Daniel Rhyder as Richard and Stacey Miller as Tiffany. They open the old wounds when Richard as a geek and Tiffany was a cheerleader. Richard is gay and he is going home to rest after living in Los Angeles where life is fast and gay men are everywhere. Tiffany had married the typical high school jock but is now looking for a better life and For her, the town of Grand Falls is about to become a memory while for Richard it becomes a haven. Richard wants to meet a woman and have a family and Tiffany thinks that it is terrible and that gay men cannot just become straight when they want to be. She wants to move on with her life and shut put the past.

This is April Wright’s directorial debut and she has every reason to be proud of what she has done. The movie has been referred to as transformational as it takes us with the characters on an emotional and spiritual journey and her actors perform with élan and zest.

Layover is a great film! I say film because it's more then a typical movie...it's artistic, beautiful and raw. I loved it and I highly recommend everyone see it. The acting is terrific, the setting is gorgeous and the script is haunting. I thought about it for days afterwards. A must see!

I thoroughly enjoyed Layover. The storyline is relate-able, the characters believable, and the acting is great. I was very impressed with Daniel Rhyder, his performance really makes the film time well-spent. I plan on looking for more of his work.
