Knockout! takes you inside the ring with Joe Oppedisano, as he photographs every high impact sexually charged move of perfectly sculpted MMA fighters, street fighters, and the toughest athletes. Expect Oppedisano to bring Testosterone, his best-selling homoerotic photobook, to life with interviews, super erotic situations, and extended wrestling scenes. Oppedisano's gritty style only begins to describe Knockout! This hyper masculine film also features fresh tracks from up and coming artists like Logo TV's NewNowNext favorite Cazwell and was shot by Tony Sellaris at the world famous Gleason's Gym in New York.
This DVD does not contain full frontal nudity.
Don’t mess with these guys! Joe Oppedisano has made a name for himself as a photographer able to bring the sweet smell of testosterone to his work. This DVD goes behind the scenes for a look at the sweaty action that goes into his over-the-top, masculinity-drenched projects.
His 2007 book, Testosterone, set him firmly among the ranks of our favorite gay photographers. Opting for genuine athletes, boxers, trainers, and wrestlers, he showcases men with naturally fit bodies; men who work hard and have the ability to take down their sweatiest opponents in the ring.
Knockout! takes us ringside at the world famous “Gleason’s Gym” in NYC. All of the models appear to be straight but they clearly love the attention and doting they receive from the gay photog. Oppedisano believes that the cookie-cutter hottie you find in most books is not what really turns us on. He goes for the big, sometimes furry, rough, tattooed, and very intimidating looks of a fighter. These men prove to be tender and kind though and are more than eager to please the photographer as they are rubbed down with oil and manhandled to get the perfect shot.
The interactions between the men are very sexy and the camera lingers over their bodies to create some drool-worthy segments. My favorites are two brothers who are clearly very comfortable with each other and could not be more erotic. But there are also some heavily inked guys, some deliciously hairy guys, and a couple that are just ripped to shreds.
These jocks love to show off their bodies but some viewers might find this erotica entry to be on the tame side because it is not outrightly gay and there is no full nudity. Despite that lack of full frontal, I was caught up in the celebration of their bodies and this DVD kept me up for the count.

Joe Oppedisano is a hyper erotic photographer in the tradition of Tom of Finland and Colt. He is internationally known and internationally praised for his aggressive masculine style of photography. Now we have him on DVD from Greenwood Cooper. “Knockout” takes us inside the ring with seven uninhibited fighters and we don’t just go to the ring but to the locker room as well. The men are gorgeous and they bar no holds.
“Knockout” was filmed at New York’s world famous Gleason’s Gym and shot by Tony Sellari in the Oppedisano style. The raw and masculine men are seven brawlers who are backed by the electric music supervised by Bill Coleman. The movie combines still shots with wrestling scenes. Oppedisano says that the movie shows us “something you can’t get in a book or a calendar or any still two-dimensional photograph—the movement, the visceral feeling, the idea behind the ‘narrative’, the moment-to-moment inspirations, the give-and-take with the models. Seeing the guys sweating and showing off in this film undoubtedly provides an extra dimension to the photographs”. It also gives us a peek into the life of the amazingly talented photographer.
The music is wonderful as it rocks and strengthens the imagery of the film; it is easy to see how Oppedisano is one of the most talked about photographer working today. The combination of beautiful men, great music and fantastic photography makes this a film that you do not want to miss.
No wonder it is free

Well, I got the new Joe O. UNCENSORED book for my birthday from friends. And, sadly -- it is the worst photography book I have ever owned. This "Knockout" DVD came with it. Hoping that the DVD would be somewhat more amusing, we popped it in towards the end of my birthday party that night. What a snore. I have no idea that they are actually selling this! When my friends said that it came free with the book, I thought it was just that-- a supplemental DVD... kind of like a DVD Bonus Feature... but for the book. I don't get it.
Boring! WHo needs ambien to get to sleep when you can have your own copy of this trainwreck of a film.
BLAH!!!!
Hmmmm

I am torn. As a eye-candy piece of cinema, it was okay. Not my type of guys. Too burly, and seem like gay-bashers. Nothing erotic about that. As a behind the scenes piece, its done okay. As a "movie" it is not a movie... Not sure what to think. But, I know I will not be watching it again.
let the yawns begin

The cover got me interested! That is where it ends. I hated this dvd! I can not remember the last time I had to literally FORCE myself to finish a dvd. Who wants to sit there for an hour and watch a photoshoot take place. How can this stuff even get released is beynd me. What a waste, It really does take away any intrigue, magic, interest in the actual pictures the film is based around.
Stay out of the ring....

It is not often that you see manly-men doing the homoerotic gig. Joe Oppedisano is a photographer known for easily shooting the pretty boy one day and the sweaty muscle stud the next. With that versatility, I was intrigued to see his new movie... which, really is not a movie at all! The film is barely 50 minutes long and I am thanking my decision to not jump out and purchase a copy right away. Renting was a very wise choice this time; that is hard to say for a movie hound like me who usually finds something to like about everything I watch! KNOCKOUT Is better fit to be a "free bonus dvd" that comes with the photographers new book rather than a stand alone title costing $29.99. The price is steep for something of this quality. It is not entertaining, it is not erotic, it is not interesting. The voyeuristic quality is enough to just put you to sleep. If you want to sit there watching a photoshoot be conducted for almost an hour, go ahead and purchase a copy. If you want a real story, or even something resembling a documentary, look elsewhere. KNOCKOUT is nothing more than a "behin the scenes"/"making of" video that you would find as a freebie with other photography books, or as a bonus feature on an actual story-based movie. A snore fest.
