For those adventurous readers who have discovered the new genre of books of graphic art, be alerted that the writer/artist known as Zack (Swiss artist Oliver Frey) has just created another winner, second only to his initial BIKE BOY. HOT FOR BOYS: THE SEXY ADVENTURES OF ROGUE places yet another 'superhero' before the world - and this one is a zinger. The passage of time and the maturation of the public (not to mention the huge success of his first graphic novel!) have obviously encouraged Zack to come forward as a real person and in the opening of this book there is a photograph of the artist along with a story of how ROGUE came into being -a fictitious name for a perfect MAN - the wealthy, perfectly built, sexually ravenous conquering hero of this book's stories.
What follows is a series of encounters Rogue has with farm boys, cruising Hampstead Heath West in London, at the gym, on spacecrafts, in Rome, the Saharas and other locations that lend themselves to terrific atmospheres for an artist's brush and imagination. The artwork is so exceptionally well done that it could easily be transferred to canvas and make any gallery look smart - and daring. But the real drive of the stories is entertainment on the male adult level. This graphic novel is 'graphic' and those easily embarrassed might be offended. But for the large audience to which the book is addressed this will likely surpass BIKE BOY in popularity. Zack has mastered his craft and hopefully he will continue creating these 'physical epics'.
