Everett Lewis had really done a great job here! The story is very good, the actors are gorgeous (and also cute), the acting is not bad and the love scenes are really hot... I think, this movie is better than Luster in some aspects and more dramatic. Joe Lia is really cute with Lance Lee Davis. Together they are a hot couple. Allan Louis in other hands is so unique as Destiny... and don't forget Minerva Vier is so tough as Lester. Overall, I think FAQs is one of the best gay movie I ever watched. It is so genuine. And I learn too from this movie to accept everyone as they are...

Why is the average customer rating only 3 stars when all the people who reviewed this wonderful fim loved it--is it that the first reviewer simply forgot to enter a number of stars? In any case, this was the best gay film I have seen for a while. It's also one of the few films by Everett Lewis--a genuinely fine film maker--that is upbeat and hopeful (perhaps "Luster" is the other, but not entirely). FAQs is a film that shows how we take care of each other in the face of a violently homophobic culture. It's beautifully written, acted, and directed. It's moving, intense, sexy, angry, loving, triumphant. Everyone should see it; I think it's an important film. And the optional English subtitles are great: so glad TLA finally started using them on a regular basis. The dialogue on many sound tracks is often hard to understand, and if one is hearing-impaired (I hate that term) like me, they're an absolute necessity.

This shows that a low budget film can hit the mark. Joe Lia and Allen Louis dave good perfromances as the "trainee" runaway and the Avenging Angle - Destiny, respectiverly. It showed an idealized way that gays can form family units and heal and help each other. Since am over my embittereed queendom for some years I highly recommend for people who are not jaded queens. Who want to sit down a feel good at the end of the movie. Also the commentary is excellent.

I really didn't know what to expect with this new release and what a wonderful surprise!! While this was not a big budget Hollywood movie, it had a very painful, yet touching message. If you want to see a very powerful gay movie, check this one out. The message makes up for occasional uneven editing and acting. An outstanding effort!!
