Andre's Mother shouldn't be missed

I happened to catch one of the original Hallmark broadcasts of this film and combed the TV listings for weeks thereafter in order to tape it. My other half at the time was an intern with an AIDS service organization and not long thereafter took the tape to one of the "buddy" training sessions. What a response!! The group ended up getting several copies of the tape through either Hallmark or the TV station and used it for years in buddy training sessions. Thomas' and Thompson's performances are magnificent and though the subject, Andre, barely appears in the film, his character is developed to an amazing degree. I would call this a "must see" film for any gay man or AIDS care provider.
